Screen printing
The best way of printing on to most cotton clothing is screen printing.
At evolve branding we have the capacity to screen print over 100,000 garments per week, and can print up to 12 colours in one design. Screen printing is the best process for large designs, producing a high quality finish with excellent clear definition. Garments printed this way wash well.
When screen printing, one colour at a time is applied and therefore the cost will increase with each additional colour applied. A separate screen is required for each colour, therefore screen charges may be uneconomical if only a small quantity of clothing is required. Using hi-tech machinery a variety of inks types are employed to produce the best finish for the type of surface to be printed, and include:
Plastisol - most commonly used for T-shirt prints and most cost effective
Discharge - for a softer subtle look and feel
Plascharge - for more vibrant colours than produced by discharge
Waterbased - being water based is the sot environmentally friendly, although colours can be inconsistent.
Foil - where an adhesive print is made and then the foil is heat pressed onto the fabric, produces a unique look.
Other print processes include:
Heat Press - this process uses transfer paper that is
Dye Sublimation - a process whereby dye turns into a vapour and is absorbed into the fabric, suitable only for fabric at least 50% polyester surface.
